Senior SAP Utilities CR&B Consultant
Focus: SAP for Utilities, Customer Relationship and Billing (IS-U), and FI-CA
The role
This role supports utility and utility-adjacent clients on the customer side of the meter: rate configuration, billing, invoicing, contract accounts receivable, and the customer service processes that sit on top. You will be the senior functional voice on CR&B design, whether the work is an S/4HANA Utilities conversion, a billing remediation, or an assessment of an existing IS-U footprint.
What you will do
- Lead design and configuration across IS-U CR&B: business partner, contract account, contract, installation, rate categories, rate structures, and billing schemas.
- Configure billing and invoicing, including prices, operands, variant programs, budget billing, and bill printing and outsorting.
- Configure and support FI-CA: payment processing, dunning, collections, write-offs, security deposits, installment plans, and returns.
- Own device management touchpoints: device installation, meter reading order and result processing, periodic and interim reads, and estimation.
- Design customer service processes: move-in and move-out, disconnection and reconnection, business master data changes, and BPEM case handling.
- Write functional specifications for billing enhancements, interfaces to CIS, MDM, and payment providers, and conversion of customer, contract, and consumption history.
- Lead billing verification and parallel run testing, and support the first live bill cycles.
Required experience
- 8 or more years of hands-on SAP IS-U CR&B configuration with at least two full lifecycle implementations or a major billing remediation.
- Deep command of rate and schema configuration and the ability to debug a wrong bill from the invoice back to the operand.
- FI-CA configuration and process experience.
- Device management and meter reading process experience.
- Integration fluency with FI/CO, CRM or Customer Management, and EDM.
Also valuable
- S/4HANA Utilities, including conversion from IS-U on ECC.
- Convergent Invoicing, Subscription Order Management, or BRIM.
- EDM and interval data, or SAP Meter Data Management.
- Regulated rate case support, unbundling, or deregulated market processes.
- Water, gas, electric, or district energy operating experience.
